The studio

We choose colour for the wall it goes on, not the chip it comes on.

Hulver Studio is a two-person practice led by Miriam Hulver. We work on homes across London and the counties around it — colour schemes, material schemes, and the occasional full room.

What we do
01

Colour scheme

A full palette for the whole home — dominant, secondary and accent per room, specified to the paint reference and proofed on your walls before a tin is opened.

02

Material scheme

Floors, stone, joinery, metal and textile pulled into one material story, sampled and laid up as a board you keep.

03

Full room design

Layout, lighting, built-in joinery and the schedule to build it — drawings your trades can price and work from.

How we work

  1. We visit

We come to the room and read the light at the hour you use it — not in the shop, not on a screen.

  2. We specify

A scheme to the paint reference: dominant, secondary and accent, with the coats counted and the substrate named.

  3. We proof

The colours go up on your actual walls, over the primer that will be used, before a single tin is bought.
